I realize that I’m a very biased observer, but I’m watching the Republican Convention now and… is it just me, or is this not nearly as good as the Democratic one? I know the “gameshow” feel of the Democratic Convention irritated some people, and it was a little silly, but I just can’t help but feel that the RNC could have benefited from some set design. It came less than a day after Barack Obama’s bipartisan praised speech at the Democratic National Convention. The choice was certainly surprising considering that even political wonks were only vaguely aware that Palin existed. The timing of the announcement gave journalists and voters the weekend to do some research into who Sarah Palin was and what she brought to the ticket.
It is rather astonishing how much negative information came out in a mere …
