Indie Retailer of the Day: Halloween Mix Bag

Posted by: Brandy Betz in Indie Retailers, Mix Bag, tags: candy corn, Halloween, indie shopping, steampunk, The Nightmare Before Christmas

Halloween is still over two weeks away but shipping times vary, making now the perfect time to do a Mix Bag inspired by All Hallows Eve. I chose to go the route of subtle holiday nod rather than gaudy spectacular with the products below. All can be used/worn after October 31 without it seeming like an anachronism.

To start us off, a nod to my favorite holiday film- The Nightmare Before Christmas:

Nightmare Before Christmas Storage Jars

Nightmare Before Christmas Ceramic Storage Jars (Set of 3), $39.99 from Fun to Collect

This cuff is edgy and a bit gothic without seeming like a piece of a costume:

Library Bones Recycled Vinyl Cuff

Library Bones Recycled Vinyl Cuff, $15.00 from Jak Random Art

This candy corn scented soap “pop” is the same size as a real popsicle:

Candy Corn Soap Pop, one 3 oz. “pop” for $8.00 from Soapy Love

These poison tags would work great as a goodie bag tie-off. They may also detract a drink stealing roommate.

Beware the Poison Tags, set of 8 tags (4 of each design) for $5.50 from Blue Bird Lane

The final product is a pair of steampunk earrings best worn by the bold at heart:

Vintage Steampunk Beetle Sterling Silver Earrings, $34.00 from 19 Moons
