McCain: “My Fellow Prisoners”
Posted by: Brandy Betz in Politics, tags: John McCain flub, John McCain speechConcerns have been voiced this election season that McCain’s age is a factor in his not that uncommon verbal flubs. The more generous theorize it be caused by exhaustion; the less generous suspect an advancing mental health condition.
I worked in a pharmacy for a few years and encountered many people of McCain’s age that had razor sharp memories while some thirty year olds couldn’t remember their home address. So I’m not going to attribute any cause to his mistakenly saying “my fellow prisoners” instead of “my fellow Americans” during a speech today. It could’ve been no more than a slip of the tongue or it could be a sign of a medical condition (the latter might be taken off the speculation table if his medical records were properly released). Or it could be that his heart’s just not in it anymore.
