The phrase “Did that just happen?” may have been coined in anticipation of this Ralph Nader interview on FNC:
Ralph seriously needs to be put out to pasture. By going on Fox and acting like one of those bellicose winos you cross the street to avoid, he’s still managing to do very serious damage to the causes he claims to care about.

ABC is reporting that President-Elect Obama has offered the Chief of Staff position to Rep. Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel hasn’t accepted or declined at this time. The Obama campaign isn’t known for its accidental leaks so an official announcement will probably follow shortly.
No politician is perfect, but I like Emanuel. He’s smart and tough, able to voice his disagreement with his boss while remaining loyal. He’s out of Chicago (tying him to Obama) but has a strong history with the Clintons. He’s partisan, fairly liberal and a champion for health care. …

As dictated in Minnesota state law, the incredibly close Senate race between Al Franken and Norm Coleman is now headed for recount (the first in the state since 1962). Franken’s statement:
The Secretary of State’s office reports that all but nine of Minnesota’s 4,130 precincts have reported in. And this race is too close to call, with a margin of just about 1100 votes out of 2.9 million cast. That’s four one-hundredths of one percent of the vote.
