Friday Night Fluff: Teen Witch

I loved the movie Teen Witch- about a nerdy teen girl who discovers she has magical powers with the help of the freaky lady from Poltergeist*- when I was a kid. Robyn Lively (much older sister of Gossip Girl’s Blake) was so pretty and there were many song and dance numbers. Rewatching the film as an adult confirmed my theories that a child’s mind is similar to that of a very stoned adult and that no one tried to hide their cocaine use in the ’80s.

The most classic scene from the film features the main character’s best friend, um, “rapping”:

And, in support of my cocaine comment above, a girl’s locker room dance scene:

*Not JoBeth Williams- the other one.

That second video, I dunno. I think, I’m not sure, but maybe I should go celibate or switch sexual orientation and become gay. That was bad. Where was the sexy??

I take this to be a scrupulously accurate portrayal of a high school girl’s locker room. Nothing you can say will convince me otherwise.

Ben, if it were possible to “become” gay, this would definitely do the trick, based on the hideous choreography alone.

It’s a friggin’ kids movie, you two. It isn’t supposed to be added to your spank bank. If it was aiming to be sexy to anyone, it was ten year old boys circa 1988.

And, yes, Will- that is exactly what a girl’s locker room looks like. Only with more pillow fights and sponge baths. They had to tone it down for the kiddies.
