Majel Barrett Roddenberry has died at the age of 76 after a battle with leukemia. The “First Lady of Star Trek” was married to series creator Gene Roddenberry (who passed away in 1991) and portrayed Nurse Christine Chapel in the original series, Lwaxana Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation and voiced the ship’s computer in virtually every Star Trek series and movie since- including the Star Trek film due out next year. Outside the governor’s home on Chicago’s Northwest Side, Blagojevich promised a very public re-emergence soon.
“I can’t wait to begin to tell my side of the story and to address you guys and most importantly the people of Illinois, that’s who I’m dying to talk to,” Blagojevich said before heading out for a morning jog. “There’s a time and place for everything. That day will soon be here.”
