A stroke of sheer, utter genius has caused wingnut chaos in the Tennessee State Assembly. Via Wonkette:
The assembly was prepared to elect some insane wingnut as House Speaker today to carry out this righteous agenda, until the Democrats, at the very last minute, all voted for a moderate Republican, and this moderate Republican voted for himself, and now he is House Speaker!

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is bragging about a phone call he made to George W. Bush that made the U.S. abstain from voting for a U.N. resolution to stop the Gaza fighting. Israel didn’t think the plan provided for their security. Condoleezza Rice had helped craft the proposal and appealed to other countries to support it. Even if Olmert hadn’t run off at the mouth, it would have been obvious that something behind the scenes had happened when the U.S. didn’t vote for something Rice cared about so much. …

Joe the Non-Certified Plumber is in Israel “reporting” for PJTV.com. He lacks the training and skills to serve as a proper…. anything, really. His sole talent seems to be standing in front of a camera, uttering a series of nonsensical sentences with keywords embedded and waiting for his pat on the head.
