President Obama is to issue another executive order today that corrects a mistake made by his predecessor. Obama will lift the global gag rule that prohibited groups offering international abortions (or the counseling for) from receiving government funding.
The gag rule- called such because it also denied funds to organizations that advocated for the lifting of the rule- was instated in 1984 under Reagan. Clinton repealed but Bush Jr. put it back. Other than loss of funds, organizations that were punished by the rule also lost access to U.S. donated …

WJBK, a Fox affiliate out of Detroit, had on a relationship expert that discussed how affectionate Barack and Michelle Obama are with each other. She said, and I quote: “they do a lot of touching…kissing…even fisting.” She was referring to the fist bumps (or “bumping”) and oblivious to what fisting actually means. The station probably had helpful emails flood in to illustrate the proper definition of the word.

So after some time in Dublin staying with friends who’d just gotten engaged, I’ve spent a fair bit of time staring at all sorts of wedding accoutrements. One thing that I’ve decided is that the women in my eventual wedding party will wear are crazy feathers in their hair, because they just look so extravagant. Off (Black) Site: President Obama has started his presidency by signing executive orders yesterday that will lead to the suspension of CIA black sites and have Gitmo closed within a year. The changes will be gradual rather than immediate. Eric Holder (once the Senate allows him to become the Attorney General) will head up a review team that will decide what to do with the detainees still at Gitmo and determine whether the protocols laid out in the Army Field Manual are sufficient for CIA interrogations.
