Am I Not Human? Zimbabwe Cholera Deaths Reach 3,000

The World Health Organization estimates that the number of cholera related deaths in Zimbabwe has reached 2,971. Over 56,000 cases of the disease have been reported since the outbreak began last August. It has begun to spread into rural areas and into neighboring South Africa, where many Zimbabweans fled in hope of finding aid

Indie Retalier of the Day: Valentine’s Day Mix Bag

Yes, it is a bit early but with shipping dates accounted for I thought now was a good time to put up a Valentine’s Day themed Indie Retailer post. The holiday is named for two Saint’s named Valentine that were honored on February 14th by the Catholic Church. Neither saint had associations with love, romance or chalky, message-bearing candy.

Election ‘08 Comic Book

Authored by Michael Crowley and Dan Goldman, 08: A Graphic Diary of the Campaign Trail puts an already (at times) comical election season and places it within the binded pages of a comic book. It is 160 pages and currently retailing at Amazon.com for $12.61.

There is some paraphrasing happening in the subject line but it isn’t a stretch to imagine Citigroup as a greedy child eyeing a shiny toy in an aisle while Obama looks on like an exasperated parent.  As you may have heard, Citigroup- the financial institution awarded a $45 billion bailout- had plans to purchase a $50 million corporate jet. The Obama administration wasn’t amused.
