10 Cool GIMP Tutorials

14 February 2009 No Comment

My post title sucks a bit but I didn’t want to go for “Top 10″ or “10 Best” because the best tutorials are the ones that help you learn what you feel you need to know at the moment and are thus subjective. I have compiled 10 tutorials that leave you with some sort of finished project, whether it be a poster or a possible desktop image. Each tutorial also uses various GIMP tricks and will help you become more comfortable with techniques that go into so many different types of projects.

For the unaware, GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)  is an open source graphics program. You can download it for free here. The tutorials below are not meant for newbies. They assume that you have at least a working knowledge of the program (how to make layers, what is contained within various menus, etc.). That said, they’re not super hard if you know the GIMP basics. And you’ll have made a poster and can put a gold star on your accomplishment chart.
