Take it from me-being a Christian in the United States is tough.  Our faith is under attack at every turn- cashiers at Target saying “Happy Holidays,” our children going up to 8 hours at school without forced prayer, adults being able to decide who to marry, godless Muslim socialism in the White House.  And in just one of the many small insults, we’ve seen an explosion in the use of this Jewish “kosher salt,” pushing good old-fashioned regular salt, with heartland values, off the shelves.

Like a stopped clock, or a blind squirrel finding a nut, David Frum has accidentally gotten something right. This year, it’s about Rush Limbaugh and his role in the conservative movement.

It has become obvious that there’s so much crazy flying out of the Republican so quickly that it would be impossible for me to keep up with it all in individual posts. But I don’t want to omit them completely so I decided to start a secondary version of our Link Roundups dedicated only to Republican shennanigans. If anyone has a suggestion for a better title, drop it in the comments.

A mild struggle for the leadership of the GOP emerged at CPAC, the participants of which were Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh. Or, as I like to call it, “heads we win, tails we win”.

In the first corner, wearing the dark blue shorts, is a politician who resigned from his position as Speaker of the House to avoid being tossed out by his own party, who had decided he had become a liability. Oh, what a difference a decade (and lack of better alternatives) makes. Gingrich told the CPAC audience “It’s not our job to be the opposition party. It’s our job to be the ‘better solutions’ party.” Included in those “better solutions” is a 12 point plan that is half tax cuts with a dash of things even they know they won’t do.
