The prints from A Melancholy Dwelling are done from paintings rather than digital creations, leaving in all those beautiful irregularities of a painted piece. I love the slightly gothic style. I also love the fact that the prints are 50% for a limited time.

We hear so much about the undertreated in our health care system. But we have a serious problem with overtreatment as well, and this, too, is the result of trusting too much to the markets.

I’m going to post excerpts of two stories largely without comment because the evil at play here is religion. This isn’t easily dismissed, fringe religious group evil. One is perpetrated by officials from one of the world’s largest religions and the other from a religious group that has a death grip around the throats of an entire culture. And to me there isn’t much difference between the two.
