AIG: A%#holes in General

AIG paid out over $100 billion in bonuses last week and the Obama administration indicated they might try to prevent this from happening. That didn’t happen:

Treasury has determined there is no way the government can actually extract the money from the individuals who already received the bonus payments. The government would face lawsuits with the potential of significant damage payouts and lawyer fees that could easily exceed the cost of the bonuses.

Police “Did Not Consider Rape a Priority”

The case of John Worboys, a black cab driver who is suspected of raping or sexually assaulting up to a hundred women in London, has brought to light the many failings of the police in their handling of rape cases. The latest news on this depressing front is that a special sexual assault investigation was severely understaffed as stolen cars were considered to have higher priority than rape cases.
