I don’t watch enough commercial supported television to catch most ad campaigns in the wild. And I rarely comment on ones that are bordering on (or living in) offensive territory because a) I’m bordering on outrage fatigue enough as it is and b) the majority of the offensive ad campaigns (save ones for companies like Axe) tend to have a short life cycle. But this Burger King commercial advertising Spongebob Squarepants kid’s meals actually made me double take.

Details are still somewhat sketchy but 4 people were found dead today in a home in Alabama. The suspected gunman, Lee Garner, has not yet been found.

One patient has tested positive for H.I.V. that was transmitted due to improperly sterilized colonoscopy equipment that has been used in V.A. clinics in Tennessee, Florida and Georgia. 16 others have tested positive for hepatitis. The V.A. recently asked 10,000 veterans to come in for blood tests after the equipment contamination was realized and these infections were found within the first batch of results, which numbered slightly over 3,000.

Vermont has passed a law to allow same-sex marriages! The state legislature has voted 100-49 to overturn Gov. Jim Douglas’ veto. Vermont is following very closely in the footsteps of Iowa, who passed a similar law last week. Connecticut and Massachusetts were the first two states to do so. It is important to note, however, that the other states passed their laws because of judicial rulings while Vermont is the first state to proactively pass a marriage equality law.

Geekware has jewelry, accessories and household items made from vintage computer parts. There are earrings and cuff-links made from keys, RAM keychains, CD clocks and much more. The notebooks are making me reminisce about the days in elementary school when picking the color of my floppy disc was a very big deal (although I always ended up with red).
