Although I cook often, my recipes are usually jotted down on scrap pieces of paper and slipped inside a notebook. I do love the idea of recipe cards but I’m a bit of a perfectionist and get frustrated when I run out of cards and there’s no way to buy matching replacement cards. That’s why these printable recipe cards appeal to me. You pay the (roughly) $5 and get a PDF file in the email that lets you print off as many recipe cards (or divider tabs or shopping lists) that you’d like.

Glenn Greenwald had a discussion about preventive detention with Ben Wizner from the ACLU and they hit on an important point: Obama could make legal all of the back door tricks the Bush administration pulled to have their way during the “war on terror”.

Clark Hoyt, public editor of The New York Times, has a column discussing controversies three of the paper’s writers have found themselves in recently. MoDo’s plagiarism is mentioned, as is Thomas Friedman’s acceptance (and eventual returning) of speaking engagement fees from an unauthorized group. But the intentional slight was in the section discussing economic writer Edmund Andrews’ forthcoming book about his own losing battle with the mortgage industry.
