Friday Night Fluff: Today’s Special

I thought that the name of this show was “Afternoon Special” until I came across the intro on YouTube. I’m amazed I remember it at all, considering it began airing the year I was born and ended when I was six. The only thing I could remember about it was the mannequin coming to life after the store closed. Oddly, I did not recall that the doorman was a puppet.

Wow! This is so funny, just this week my hubby and I took a stroll down memory lane. Me: watching old Sesame Street documentary-style things on making crayons and taking a llama to the dentist. Him: wacky Canadian kid’s shows like “Polka dot Door”. Great minds think alike!
I vaguely remember this, oddly enough it’s the doorman that is familiar for me.
It’s amazing how many of the kids shows shown in America during the 80s and early 90s were actually made in Canada.
80s Sesame Street was awesome. I won a record of the Rubby Ducky song in a dance contest when I was very little. It was a very fine achievement.
