Between Sociological Images over at Contexts Blogs & now Jezebel, we’ve got two sources looking at the themes present in pop provocateur Lady Gaga’s latest video for her song “Paparazzi. ”

Making beautiful corpses isn’t something that hasn’t been done before, or even done so many times that it makes for a de rigeur photoshoot on ANTM, and its still problematuc but I think that there’s also a dialogue to be had regarding the politics of disability present in this piece.  The video eroticizes both wheelchairs and crutches in a ways that is uncommon in mainstream media.  Where does this fit in the continuum of discussion about beauty and disability in perspective with, perhaps, “Britain’s Missing Top Model“?   BMTM’s viewers were invited to “Meet the eight disabled women learning the skills needed to make it as a model”  This is the winner Kelly, along with her teaser stats provided by the network:
