Peeled Snacks has organic fruit snacks that are free of preservatives, sugar and oil. You can pick up a free $10 gift card code for their products by simply going to their homepage and filling out the very short survey that is linked to at the center of the page. The code will be emailed to you fairly soon after you complete the survey. If you choose one of their products that are on sale (the pineapple and apricot snacks are currently going for $14.99 for a box of 10), your final total with the shipping and tax added and discount subtracted should be around $12.99.

It has always been one of my dreams to own a bakery. Standing in a kitchen- surrounded by flour, dough and fillings- makes me blissful. That explains the slight baking slant to this kitchen themed mix bag.

My sweet tooth will probably be my downfall. I’m especially susceptible to cookies and anything that includes good quality chocolate. A Sugar Affair has these things and more. Their specialties include gourmet chocolate bark sprinkled with toppings ranging from coconut to peppermint candies, gourmet Rice Krispies treats, and homemade marshmallows.

I’m not sure how “indie” this business is and it does ship from England but it is so fantastic I couldn’t resist. Edible sells food products that would be considered exotic to most Western palates. Worms, ants, hornets, crocodile, and reindeer are some of the included edible creatures. There are also options safe for vegetarians and vegans, including some of the world’s finest coffee, tea and vanilla.

Another installment of “What happens when I look for Indie Retailers while hungry” is filled by Blu Sparrow and their luscious looking, err, balls and flavored popcorn. I plan to order some of the popcorn for my grandfather’s upcoming birthday and the Carrot Cake Balls for my upcoming snacking.

I was hungry when I started looking for today’s Indie Retailer and was drawn into the Etsy shop of Sweetie Pie Delights by the Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies. The shop’s main items are various flavors of sandwich cookies and fancy marshmallow concoctions that I wish I could eat, but I can’t handle large marshmallows because I ate half a bag of them- when I was eleven and at summer camp- just before going on a Merry Go Round.

Bento is a Japanese home packed lunch that consists of fish/meat, rice and vegetables arranged in a visually appealing manner. Bento designs can be incredibly elaborate. There are numerous websites dedicated to people displaying their bento talents but this one in particular gained internet acclaim for the intricacy (and cuteness) of so many of the [...]

My family has a habit of purchasing plastic items of food to sit around as decorations. This annoys me to no end because if I see a donut, I want a donut and if the only donut on hand happens to be made of solid plastic….that’s going to make for a very chewy donut eating [...]

Though my portion of the family isn’t hosting the Thanksgiving meal, I’ve been in the kitchen all morning and am currently coated in a thin layer of flour. I’ve got the bread in the oven, then I have to mix up the butter herb coating for the turkey I’m making for our household…it’s going to [...]

Though I am currently attempting a move to the D.C. area, if I got to select from any housing arrangement, I’d choose a house a bit out in the country with room enough for large gardens (floral and vegetable) and fruit trees. As it stands, I’ll have to live vicariously through W’s Homemade with their [...]
