So I discovered the art of “Vintage by Crystal” at the SOWA Open Markets in Boston this past Sunday.

Made By Michelle Brusegaard (MBMB) has hand screenprinted stationary, clothing, towels and fabric napkins. The designs share a theme of nature inspired styling and subdued but eye catching colors.

Gilt Goods is a discovery over at 1000Markets, an etsy-like conglomerate indie artisans. I enjoy the strong line drawings and whimsical accents. I quite enjoy the designer’s project-based flights of fancy as well. Have a look.

Geekware has jewelry, accessories and household items made from vintage computer parts. There are earrings and cuff-links made from keys, RAM keychains, CD clocks and much more. The notebooks are making me reminisce about the days in elementary school when picking the color of my floppy disc was a very big deal (although I always ended up with red).

I don’t use coasters due to the fact that the tables that I have that don’t have glass tops (which are few) aren’t of a quality that needs to be preserved. But I do like coasters in theory, having enjoyed plenty of the little drink companions in restaurants and the apartments of better furnished friends. And the coasters from Little Coaster Gnome are so cute I may buy a set and pop them in a frame as an art piece.

GingerDead and Friends is a darkly funny webcomic created by Calan Ree. The main characters-Gingerdead, his twin sister Vendetta and his skeletal girlfriend leNoir- star in strips that are a pinch gothic, a shake punk with a heaping side of haiku. Never Ender began its life as Never Ender Boutique and Gallery, a combination art gallery and indie clothing boutique in Reno, Nevada. I am a big fan of “to do” lists because I usually have a lot going on and I’m working with a very small, cluttered memory span. While Remember the Milk does the trick for me online, I’m still a fan of the pen and paper variety because of one thing: stickers. Yes, at 27 years old I am still incredibly motivated by charts with stickers awarded for achievement. How’s that for social conditioning?
