Geekware has jewelry, accessories and household items made from vintage computer parts. There are earrings and cuff-links made from keys, RAM keychains, CD clocks and much more. The notebooks are making me reminisce about the days in elementary school when picking the color of my floppy disc was a very big deal (although I always ended up with red).

I am a big fan of “to do” lists because I usually have a lot going on and I’m working with a very small, cluttered memory span. While Remember the Milk does the trick for me online, I’m still a fan of the pen and paper variety because of one thing: stickers. Yes, at 27 years old I am still incredibly motivated by charts with stickers awarded for achievement. How’s that for social conditioning?
It was through the stickers that I came to find MAUstudio. Came for the little ninja stickers, stayed for the accessories and stationary.

A surefire way to get your shop featured as an Indie Retailer is to have a necklace shaped like a saltine cracker, as Emily E Jewelry does. What makes it even better is the fact that I was eating that type of cracker when I discovered the store. Vaguely meta.
Golden Saltine Brass Necklace, $24.00

The Weekend Store’s jewelry has some themes that seem popular among indie retailers of this genre: birds, typewriter keys and watch gears. But their takes on the themes are still interesting and worth a view:

Luxe Deluxe jewelry favors romantic symbols like roses, lockets and sparrows made of brass, sterling silver and/or acrylic. I tend to forget about earrings when doing jewelry features (because my ears aren’t pierced) but I remembered to include some this time.
Vanilla Rose Brass Locket, $38.00

Lauren Elgee Design was suggested by Anne in the Indie Retailer Suggestion Thread. I liked Elgee’s kitschy earrings so much that I decided to feature her shop right away. The price tag of $55 a pair is a bit higher than I would normally go for a piece of jewelry (yes, I’m cheap), but these [...]

The Tiki Lounge Collection of jewelry from Rubi Rocket reminds me of those infinitely entertaining B surf movies from 60s and 70s. The pieces are made with a combination of laser cut plastic and etched wood. Gamers (and nerds in general) should check out their Neon Retro Fun Collection for arcade and otherwise old school [...]

Gamiworks offers “a contemporary collection of Japanese chiyogami inspired gifts and accessories.” Chiyogami is a type of brightly colored Japanese paper that has a pattern done by woodblock printing. The papers are used in origami and a variety of handicrafts. Gamiworks utilizes the chiyogami in jewelry and household goods. The lines of the products are [...]

The jewelry designs from Liebling (German for “darling”) are unique and eclectic. Modern lines and old world charm often combine in one spectacular piece. One of the best tests for an indie jewelry store is whether their products stand out from the crowd (and, believe me, Etsy is flooded with jewelers). Liebling passes that test [...]
